Our feature Wedding today is Sam and Vus Vancouver Wedding. Both of them currently live in San Francisco but decided to have a wedding in Vancouver (Sams home town). We got referred to Sam from one of our good friends David Tam who also photographed their wedding. We have worked on several weddings together and David is one of my top Preferred Photographer Vendors <3. Sam trusted me with her big day as she had no time to do a trial, we did a glamourous look on her with triple layer lashes, a lovely smokey eye and a nude lip. For her hair we decided on up do incorporating in french braid in the front. Thank you so much for having us big a part of your big day! We wish Sam and Vu nothing but the best!! =). Here are a few pictures from their photo session in Whyte Cliff Park with David Tam.
We have all had that one time when we applied “black eye liner” and within 2 hours it was all under neath our eyes, we look in the mirror and we looked like a mixture between a racoon and someone who hadn’t slept for days or both haha. I have tried many eye liners on the market and some of them have claimes they are are ” water proof, non smudging, non moving etc”. Some of them lived up to their claim, some unfortunately are in the bottom of my makeup drawers collecting dust. Here are my top 3 liners in all formulas
1) Eye Pencil-There are the pencil formulas and there are the ” kohl” formulas. I personally think the kohl formulas are better for ” smudging” as they are softer so they are perfect for creating that based for a smokey eye. I love Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Black Eye liner as its not too soft and not too stick, you can apply this on top, bottom or even in the waterline. Make sure you sharpen it to get a more crisp line
2)Gel Pot- Gel Pot liners can be applied with a angled brush for that “cat eyed” look, dip your brush into the pot, take off the excess and apply it close to your lash line and flick outwards. With the angles of your brush you can manipulate the product to get the liner as thin or as thick as you want. Black track has a quick drying time so you may have to move fast, remember practise makes perfect 😉
3)Liquid Eye Liners- I used to hate them as the liner would end up all over my lids and when I would open my eyes it was a HUGE mess, it used to take me 15 mins to just to apply one eye. I used learnt to love liquid as you dont need a brush or a sharpener. Tip: Just remember to tilt your head all the way up and look down. This eye liner drys fast so it shouldn’t smudge all over your eye lids =)
Hope this all helped everyones Eye Liner Woes!
I have clients all the time requesting a “airbrush look” especially for brides. Airbrush makeup makes your face look flawless, impeccable and absolutely perfect ( if done right). Airbrush services are a additional fee however those who are on a budget, we offer a second option which I prefer so much more ( no extra machine, no holding your breath, no horror stories if the machine breaks mid way). We love using the Beauty Blender for air brush makeup. There are no edges so you will not get any streaks or brush marks on the face. I love the versatility of the beauty blender because you can apply and also erase (yay! for double duty). The instructions say you should dampen the sponge and apply the makeup on your face. I love it because you get so much more control of the product you are providing. Also not only can you apply wet foundation, you can apply powders as well!. The Beauty Blender is one of my must have products in my kit <3 What do you use to create the airbrushed makeup look without the airbrush?
