As a makeup artist I always get asked by clients and friends “How do I do a smokey eye without looking like a panda?”. The key to a smokey eye is blending and also have the ” darkest” colour near your lash line and blending upwards creating the ” smoke effect”. One of the fastest ways of creative a “smokey eye” is only using 3 products!. Black eyeliner, a shadows of your choosing ( this will determine your smoke) and mascara.
1) Line your eyes with the black eye liner ( top and bottom), I like to use a waterproof one like Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes to really have it stay there all day
2)Using your brush or your fingers “smudge it” upwards ( this does NOT have to be perfect), just make sure you see no harsh lines and the darkest part is still at the lash line.
3)Apply your smoke colour with a ” blending ” brush, be sure have the gradient from lash line to crease. – Don’t forget about the bottom ( focusing more on inner 2/3 of eye)
4) Apply Mascara and ta da! You are done.
Here are a few other ways of applying a smokey eye.~ Which one is your fave?
